Today is March 11, 2019 and is a very special day because it is #NationalJohnnyAppleseedDay! There are many rumors about Johnny Appleseed and today I’m going to share the truth about the man behind the myth.
But first, here’s my recipe for an Appleseed Old Fashioned that you should make and enjoy while diving into the history of Johnny Appleseed!
How to make an Appleseed Old Fashioned Recipe:
Ingredients
- Apple brandy
- Simple syrup
- Cardamom Bitters
- Cinnamon
- Club Soda
Recipe
- Fill shaker with ice and pour 1.5 oz.
- Add 1 oz. simple syrup
- 4 dashes of cardamom bitters (regular bitters will work also, but for a delicious herbal flavor go for cardamom)
- Shake it all up, pour over ice in a lowball glass and enjoy!
Now that that’s settled, sit back, relax and enjoy this taste of history!
