Subject: Izara’s Reflection, Sophomore English
Student’s Name: Izara Torvik
Date: May 17, 2011
It took me awhile to get myself to do this assignment. My first year at Tompkin’s Academy has been the hardest year I’ve ever had to face. It’s been filled with memories I don’t really want to reflect on.
I didn’t enjoy changing schools, but I tried to make it work. I joined the school’s drama club and met some really great people. On paper this year has been the best year of my life; met Kia, my roommate who is now one of my best friends, got asked out by my school crush, Lee, and actually made pretty good grades.
It has been a great year.
But some of the things that have happened to me and my twin brother, Kain, along the way have changed us and I don’t know how to move on.
I’ve gained a lot, but have lost bits and pieces of myself along the way. How do you find your way back to who you were before? Is it even possible?
I don’t have any answers. Just questions. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what next year has in store for me. Hopefully it will bring healing, enlightenment, and the answers that we seek.
Feel free to find me on Facebook here.
Love,
Izara
