My First Author Event

WRITE THIS WAY: Indie Author Fest 2017

This was my very first live event as a published author.

I was so nervous my hands were shaking, but it went well!

Usually I just do the writing and let my characters do the talking.

Which is why I am not a public speaker. Speaking in front of people is the hardest thing for me to do. Saturday, March 18, 2017 I had to do quite a lot of talking to people walking up to my booth, even when i didn’t feel like they were interested.

But I took a deep breath, spoke, and what I found was that I had no reason to be afraid. There were people there of all ages and of all backgrounds, people interested in my story because I took the time to listen to theirs. I hope I encouraged the young writers who stopped by my booth. I hope that they never stop following their dreams.

Overall, it was definitely a learning experience and I hope I can have the opportunity to do more live events in the near future!
